Cassandra Reviews: 3 of the Best Esthetician-approved Skincare Devices Ever!

We have a note from Cassandra about 3 of her favorite celebrity esthetician-recommended skincare devices!

Do you know how many skincare devices I’ve tested? Honestly, I couldn’t even begin to tell you! Whether they were recommendations from estheticians or simply a discovery on my perennial quest for healthy skin and hair, I’ve tested countless at-home skincare devices

I wanted to share some beauty tools that celebrity estheticians and dermatologists have approved of and recommended to me over the years. I’ll also be sharing my personal experience using each one. I genuinely think these devices bring a spa-worthy experience into your home. I think they are the best— period — not just hype.

Shani Darden Facial Sculpting Wand

When a device gets recommended by Shani Darden, you know it’s legit. She’s worked with Jessica Alba, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Chrissy Teigen, and Kelly Rowland. While celebrity testimonies aren't everything, celebrities are normally very selective and the immense amount of pressure and spotlight leads them to select an esthetician who can provide consistent results.

And Shani definitely provides consistent results.

For instance, the sculpting wand is a vibration tool created to mimic in-office treatments, and it uses gentle soundwave technology. The vibration component helps to stimulate collagen production over time, which ultimately helps with fine lines. Additionally, it allows for improved circulation and lymphatic drainage, helping significantly with depuffing the face.

Shani says, “I always travel with my Facial Sculpting Wand… it really helps to counteract puffiness from flying and will keep your face sculpted. This wand uses gentle sound wave technology to deeply stimulate facial muscles and target fine lines at their source.”

My experience:

As someone who’s tried it, I can confirm it’s like a superpowered facial massage. When I use it, my skin immediately looks a bit more toned and refreshed. Yes, it’s a splurge, but having Shani’s signature technique in the palm of my hand is worth it!

Renée Rouleau’s Go-To Device – LED Light Therapy Mask

Another esthetician Cassandra looks up to is Renée Rouleau, an esthetician with 30+ years of skincare experience and a consistently full client roster. She is famous for her unique approach to esthetics while still remaining true to science and proven results. She  is actually a big proponent of LED light therapy for her clients’ skin and is constantly sharing its benefits.

What does LED light therapy do?

LED masks can address everything from acne breakouts to wrinkles and dullness, making them an incredibly versatile at-home skincare technology.”

LED masks offering bothred and blue light are Renée’s go-to. Offering a one-two punch, blue light kills acne-causing bacteria while red light boosts collagen and calms inflammation.

Renee says, “I’ve seen such good results that at the end of the day, LED masks are a worthwhile investment… offering a convenient and effective solution for skin rejuvenation."

My experience: I definitely take this advice seriously. And personally, I use the Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro LED Mask, an FDA-cleared full-face mask combining red and blue LED.

Dr. Dennis Gress DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro LED Mask

Using an LED mask at home is very accessible. I wear it for about 10 minutes a day. Remember though — consistency is key. Dermatologists say you may have to wear it almost every day for 4-8 weeks before seeing significant results.

In my case, regular red-light sessions have helped give my skin a glow by fading past-acne marks and inflammation. At the same time though, it’s powerful but gentle. So, you don’t have to worry about irritation. Ultimately, if you want a single device that deals with acne, inflammation, and fine lines, an LED mask is a fantasticesthetician-approved beauty tool to invest in.

Dr. Heidi Goodarzi’s Recommendation – iRestore Professional Hair Growth Helmet

Now, let’s talk hair and scalp. People always forget about the scalp, but it needs skincare too! Dermatologist, Dr. Heidi Goodarzi (aka “Dermatologist Mom” on YouTube) says that she loves low-level laser therapy (LLLT) for hair growth. In a video we did on postpartum hair loss, she recommended the iRestore Professional LED Hair Growth Helmet (often called the Restore Pro Helmet) as a safe, evidence-based way to regrow thinning hair.

The iRestore professional hair growth helmet is a 650nm red light that boosts circulation and energizes hair follicles. This device immerses your scalp with red light lasers.

Does it work?

While it’s true that people buy devices like this just because “they look cool and sciency,” this is not just a trend. Research backs up red LED for scalp health. After a few months of consistent use, medical trials attest to “low-level light therapy from a helmet device. These devices can improve the appearance of the hair, thickening the hair and increasing density.”  LED helmets do this by stimulating hair follicles and helping hair to grow again.

My experience:

After using the irestore professional hair growth helmet for about six months, I truly noticed hair growth results. I noticed that less hair was falling, and there were fewer clumps at the bottom of the shower. I even saw baby hairs sprouting along my hairline. Plus, my bald spots began to fill in.

But, as Dr. Goodarzi noted, consistency is critical. And even though it can take 3–6 months to see results, it’s so worth it. So, if you’re dealing with shedding or thinning, this could be a game-changer, especially for confidence and postpartum hair loss.
