As the modern world constantly encourages us to reach for more, is there ever a time to feel content? That's why PURE'AM founder, Jean Kim, deeply values gratitude and acceptance, especially on her journey as an entrepreneur.
Who is Jean Kim?
As the founder of PURE’AM, an organic K-beauty line, Jean wanted to create products that provide solace for the skin and the self.
The brand's name was inspired by achieving the purest versions of ourselves — but, pure in the sense of being our most authentic selves. Despite beauty standards and society's expectations, Jeans’s brand suggests that it’s okay to be purely YOU. The apostrophe actually stands for “I.”
So, it reaffirms the message, “Pure I Am.”
As we practice pure self-acceptance, Jean conveys that we develop gratitude for who we are, our lives, and the people we share it with.
The more we value something, the more we take care of it. Thus, gratitude is the ultimate foundation of self-care.
Jean's Self-Care with Gratitude Movement? What does it mean?
Jean noticed that one of the biggest hindrances to self-care is anxiety. An estimated 31.1% of U.S. adults experience any anxiety disorder at some time in their lives (NIH). However, Jean’s campaigning for gratitude and acceptance is working to promote a widespread healing.
Researchers state that there is an established relationship between gratitude interventions and well-being outcomes. And actually, psychologists describe how self-care rituals such as showers and skincare regimens are particularly opportune moments to practice mindfulness and gratitude.
Because self-care is often seen as a way to polish and perfect, people don't often realize this. But, Jean encourages us to see self-care as a means of peace and purification. So, while Jean’s Self-care with Gratitude campaign helps to transform the way we see self-care, her brand, PURE’AM, also gives us resources for skin repair and self-love.
Why did Jean make PURE'AM organic?
Many brands make claims stating “no synthetic ingredients.” However, did you know skincare with botanical ingredients can have residues from synthetic pesticides? On the other hand, organic products do not use synthetic pesticides, and if they do, they have to be approved by specific standards.
Yes, it's wonderful that organic skincare may be more sensitive skin-friendly, but what's most important is the time PURE'AM takes to source the cold-pressed, clinically-proven, and organic ingredients.
The time required for sourcing organic ingredients simply shows Jean's dedication to purifying self-care, not commercializing it.
Why PURE'AM?
The most beautiful aspect of PURE'AM is not just the brand's ethos of self-acceptance. We have personally experienced and adore Jean’s gratitude for community, nature, and life — holistically and purely, and we're mutually grateful.
