Best daytime SPF moisturizer I have tried. I have been in search for a moisturizer that is vegan, has physical sunblock, does not have synthetic fragrance or silicone for years and finally found it! Where have you been in my life?! The cream is easy to spread (much better than many physical sunblock) it is matte which I like. It leave a faint white cast but it doesn’t bother me as I have light skin. The ingredients are all good for my skin and this will be my go to daytime moisturizer from now on.
This product is clearly not made for melanin skin. I bought it because it was safe to use during pregnancy but I'll need to find another one because this left a white film on my face. Dissappointed
Leaves a white cast. I bought this to replace my Juice Beauty CC cream because the CC cream was staining my cloth face masks. However, I found this product to be disappointing because the white cast is so bad I doubt I'm using enough product for sun protection. It does rub in eventually, but it takes a lot of effort, and there's still a bit of white cast. The formula is not moisturizing and not drying either. It rubs in easier if applied immediately after a face oil. This would be fine for the beach, but it doesn't work as an everyday sunscreen.
I have dry yet acne-prone skin and bought this sunscreen based on the video review. The woman in the video said it didn't cause her skin to break out, and she's right. It doesn't break me out at all. It's got a lot of natural ingredients that are soothing, too, so it feels good on my face. It's zinc-based, so it's stark white, but it absorbs completely within a few seconds and the white appearance disappears. I'm not sure whether this would be the case on non-white skin, but as a woman of European descent, I find it perfect.
I tend to think of this more as a hydrating sunscreen, than a moisturizer that has SPF in it. Because it's oil-free, it's not super moisturizing, but it is hydrating (It has several good humectant ingredients for increasing hydration, like aloe, hyaluronic acid, and panthenol.) It is a bit thick and takes some time to spread over skin -- this is due to the non-nano zinc oxide, which is my sunscreen ingredient of choice for my sensitive rosacea-prone skin. It will leave a white cast, as all non-nano zinc oxide creams do. Because my skin is fair, it's not noticeable, but it may stand out on deeper skin tones FYI. If you have really dry skin, you may want to layer a moisturizer or serum underneath. This is the only day cream I need in the summer on my combination skin, but in the winter I use this as a top sunscreen layer over another moisturizer. This has really increased the health of my skin, and is one of the few mineral sunscreen moisturizers that doesn't clog my pores
Use in the last step of your AM routine. Apply liberally to face, neck, and chest.
